Very effective in treating acute and chronic sinus-related conditions e.g. post-nasal drip & resulting cough, continual clearing of throat, sinus congestion and pain, sinus headaches, painful blocked ears.
NB: It is highly recommended to use this remedy in conjunction with the muco drainol 30C remedy for sinus congestion and pain, ‘snotty nose’ and blocked ears, children with grommets. Dose 5 minutes apart.
For allergic sinusitis, add histamine comp 30C
For infections, add anti-virabac 1M at the earliest stage

| Kali bichromicum | Catarrh (mucous congestion) of pharynx, larynx, bronchi and nose producing tough, stringy and viscous secretions; tough “elastic” plugs blown from the nose that may leave a raw, inflamed surface causing frontal sinus pain and a sense of fullness at the bridge of the nose; loss of smell; difficulty breathing through the nose; violent sneezing especially in the morning. |
| Mercurius solubilis aut vivus | Excessive runny nose causing rawness in the nostrils and post- nasal swelling; glue-like nasal discharge that can burn the upper lip; hot, dryness in the nose; pulsation in the ears with foul-smelling pus; post-nasal burning pain that may be transferred sharply to the ears. |
| Nux vomica | Blocked nose that is worse at night; runny nose during the day with sneezing in the morning; scraping in the throat with headache; pain transferred to the ears when swallowing; swollen uvula. |

| Pulsatilla pratensis | Thick, yellow discharge from ear with throbbing pain; thick creamy discharge from nose, congested at night but runny during the day; pressure and pain of nasal bones and at the bridge of the nose with loss of smell; frontal headache; nasal discharge may later turn yellow-green. |
| Sambucus nigra | Acts on respiratory organs. Useful for sniffles in infants where breathing and breastfeeding are inhibited. Difficulty breathing when nose is blocked or filled with tenacious mucus. |
| Silicea | Obstructed nasal passages with loss of smell; frothy nasal discharge. |
Dosage: In acute conditions, suck 3-5 pillules in a clean mouth every hour for 3 doses, then every 2 hours for 3 doses. Thereafter dose 4-6 hourly until well.
Do not dose continuously for longer than 3-5 days. If further treatment is required, consult a homeopath or health practitioner. If any new symptoms develop that were not present initially, stop the remedy and consult a homeopath.
