Pegasus Eqiune Colic/Abdominal Distress 30C – 25g

Prescribed as a remedy for spasmodic or flatulent colic, while it is excellent for horses, it works just as well for all animals suffering with abdominal spasm and discomfort. Indications are cramping / spasm of a portion of the large intestine, with excessive flatus (wind) and stomach rumblings. Restlessness, sweating, pawing the ground, kicking at abdomen, animal will lie down and roll violently, looking round at flank. Increased pulse and discoloured conjunctiva. Animals of an excitable nature are more susceptible to this condition.

(All colics are potentially dangerous, so veterinary advice must be sought soon, should a positive response not be seen within 5-6 doses)

Ingredients:

  1. Ammonium Carb. 6C – Constrictive, cutting, tearing cramps largely from gas, followed by loose stool. Noise with flatus and pain in abdomen, better for lying down on right side and pressure. Respiration becomes laboured & short, with discharge of mucous from nostrils.
  2. Anacardium 30C – Pinching, griping with continual rumbling, With flatulent colic. Abdomen full, hard & distended.\
  3. Argentum Nit. 30C – All symptoms of abdominal discomfort brought on by apprehension & anticipatory anxiety. E.g. Colic with much flatulent distention, often followed by evacuation of gas & green fetid mucous.
  4. Colocynth 30C – Affects the digestive tract & intestines with agonizing pain in the abdomen, which generally increases in intensity till patient vomits. Dysenteric stool – renewed each time, by least food or drink. Great thirst. Agonising cuttingin abdomen – distressing colic. Constant rumbling & ‘croaking’ in bowels with noisy emissions of flatus, with watery discharges.
  5. Cuprum Met 30C – Violent intermittent spasm in abdomen. Spasmodic movements of the abdominal muscles.
  6. Mag. Phos 30C – General Anti-Spasmodic – sudden severe cramping pain, bloating with flatulence.
  7. Nux Vom. 30C – Flatulent distention of abdomen, with spasmodic pain. Desire to pass stool but can’t…. helpful for cramping caused by constipation. Attacks brought on by eating indigestible food or over eating. Strain to pass dung & urinate. Animal lies on side looking uneasy, bending head toward flank.
  8. Robinia 30C – Excessive acidity with burning pain in stomach – flatulence with distention of abdomen & bowels. Great weakness, worse for least motion. Severe colic and acidic diarrhoea.

Dosage: In very acute cases, dose (10 pillules), every 15 minutes x 3 doses, then 1-2 hourly until sign of relief. Thereafter dose 2-4 hourly till well.
(as always, should the condition worsen within 6-7 doses, consult your veterinarian soonest whilst continuing the remedies.)
