Comfrey roots and leaves contain Allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, along with other substances that reduce inflammation and keep skin healthy.  We have added DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) which acts as a carrier to take the comfrey into the deeper layers of the skin, promoting faster healing. It will also relieve an insect bite, as well as a quickly clear up a skin rash. Severe skin problems can be quickly relieved by using comfrey – including burns.
