SOLAL Sleep Naturally 30 x 6.5g
An amino acid-rich drink which promotes improved sleep quality by reducing the anxiety associated with sleeplessness.
Glycine is an amino acid. In the central nervous system (CNS) glycine acts as an agonist at the glutamate receptor N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA). The concentration of glycine in the brain is fairly stable due to the dietary consumption of glycine. However, the addition of supplements can increase CNS concentrations of glycine. Theanine is thought to work for stress-induced anxiety by reducing the release of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter. It is also used for its relaxing and anti-anxiety effects. Magnesium helps relax muscles and is believed to block the release of excess excitatory neurotransmitters in the brain. Magnesium is also used orally for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

Calcium channel blockers: Magnesium inhibits calcium entry into smooth muscle cells and may therefore have additive effects with calcium channel blockers.
Potassium sparing diuretics: They also have magnesium sparing properties, which can counteract the magnesium losses associated with loop and thiazide diuretics.
Quinolone antibiotics: Magnesium can decrease quinolone absorption. Individuals should take magnesium at least 2 hours before, or 4 to 6 hours after quinolone antibiotics.
